Chris is the technical lead for Raster Foundry - an imagery analysis and publishing platform developed at Azavea with funding from NASA and the Department of Energy research grants. As a software developer at Azavea Chris has worked on a number projects, including Open Transit Indicators, a transit planning application for the World Bank, and HunchLab, a resource and patrol management platform for police departments.

Prior to joining Azavea, Chris was pursuing a PhD in poltical science at the Universty of Pennsylvania. While at Penn, Chris developed a method for measuring political attention and polarization using text and speech.
